Feminine graduation card.  This was cased from PartiCraft (Participate In Craft).

I made this card for a young woman moving to Seattle.  The city was a die cut (Memory Box Cityscape) with color vellum behind the windows.  The Space Needle was cut with my electronic cutter.  The moon was a new Altenew "To the Moon" Stamp.  The moon stamp is pretty realistic looking (up to three layers), but as you can see, I still need some work on my masking technique.  I think next time I'll use liquid masking at the edges so I can see what I'm doing a little better.

Sympathy card created using Papertrey Ink's "Leaf Prints".

5x7 top fold card trick

I like to make 5x7 top fold cards.  You can't do this with regular 8.5x11 cardstock without gluing two cut panels together.  I cut the front at 5x7, but cut the back at 5 x 7.5 (or longer, up to 8.5).  This usually leaves a unattractive glued flap at the top.  To disguise the glue flap, I realized I could turn it into a decorative element by die-cutting the edge before gluing the panels together.  I think I may like this better than if I had a piece of cardstock 14 inches long.  What do you think?

Gilding Flakes

I just discovered gilding flakes after watching Sue Wilson's you tube video.  I think it may be my all time favorite!  You can't appreciate the shimmer in the photos, but it's quite reflective.

The stamp was a Penny Black "Wistful".  I used a gold leaf pen (Krylon 18K) to trim the outside edge of the card stock she was stamped on, then inset it into a co-coordinating color card stock frame (to keep bulk down).  The sentiment was embossed in gold.

My husband is a veterinarian and we had some very sweet clients get into a wreck.  We wanted to send them a special card with room for all our staff to leave personal messages.  This is what I came up with.

I made the dog using paper piecing.  The inspiration was a card found on Pinterest.  The link is here:  http://mypaperjourney.blogspot.com/2012/02/thinking-of-you-lawnscaping-challenge.html
I layered the oval on top of the cardstock which gave me a edge to run liquid glue against and then lay the bakers twine against.  The inside had our message and some space for people to sign, but I also had a white piece of cardstock on the top half for more people to sign.  I didn't adhere it until after people had signed so the front of the card didn't get smushed.
